Cream and Tails: Bully Colored

Artist's Comments: Well, here's a colorized picture of something that only 19 people looked at and nobody commented on when it was black and white. The original picture was hand-drawn in pencil then, through no particular ease as I'm sure many of you can empathize, scanned into a photshop knock-off. The colors were done with simple paint bucket fills and I didn't retrace my lead line art because it seemed strong enough on its own. Of course, the main reason this isn't propery "inked" is because last time I did that with a computer, it made the characters look too rigid (and took WAY too long for my interests). Not a bad pic from my early work. Not a great one but not my worst. Of course, "not bad" by my standards is clearly deplorable. It's a shame that a lot the truly credible artists aren't as interested in this as I am else we'd see something that ACTUALLY looks like Cream beating up Tails.

Story: When viewing anything I've drawn, especially regarding Sonic characters, a certain degree of suspension of disbelief is required, or else nothing makes sense. In the case of Tails and Cream, Tails typically maintains is overly kind personality but can seldom fly or even open a jar of pickles for himself. Cream, on the other hand, can fly, run, and bench press well over twice her own weight and abuses those around her she deems weaker than herself.

Tails is leaving school, heart racing because he knows a certain rabbit likes to "play" with him at this time of day. Tails gets to the end of the playground and is just a stone's throw away from the safe haven of his house. He's essentially in the clear. He takes a second to manage his near-explosive heartbeat and stop his hands from shaking. Releasing a huge sigh, he takes a step forward. In just a second his foot will be on international soil and will be a free man...boy.

"Hey Meat!" a voice as shrill and sweet-sounding as any little girl could hope to be calls out in as mean a tone as any boy could hope to attain.

Tails stops in place as if he hit an invisible wall as sweat soaks his fur from top to bottom and his heart all but jumps out of his chest. His body shaking, Tails starts to turn around but abruptly finds his back against a wall, a single hand pinning him in place without effort. Following the arm to its source, Tails' lip quivers and tears started welling in his eyes as they unfortunately came to a little red dress.

"Up here!" the feminine but all-too intimidating voice beckoned.

Reluctantly lifting his head, Tails came face-to-face with terror itself: Cream the Rabbit, a girl two years his junior but at least ten pounds his superior.

Grinning her semi-fanged teeth, Cream stared right through Tails' face and saw his very soul shivering before her. She felt his heart racing in her palm. She could see why so many people considered this pathetic wimp "cute." She wasn't sure if she should pity him for his innocence or hate him for his weakness. Who cares? He's entirely too fun to judge.

"C-C-Cream..." Tails barely forced out of his throat. "...I d-d-don't have any money...Can you l-l-let me go?"

"Meat," Cream replied, her voice now a hybrid of girlish charm and demonic intent. "When has this ever been about money? Now where should I start? The face or the stomach?"

As Cream pondered where to begin her "playdate," she held Tails in place without trying, the fox having learned by now not to try to get away.

Writer's Comment: Okay...What you just read (bless you if you actually did) was semi-intended/semi-run-away nightmare. Having been inspired by phenomenal (though presumably retired) artist Silvervest, I decided that my pictures would be immeasurably improved with lengthy and detailed backstories, to help set the mood and distract you from my sub-par talents as an artist. About half-way through, however, I really got into it and wanted to try to flex my prose muscle (I draw for fun every 20th Blue Moon but I really want to be a writer). I also have a bad tendency to talk WAY too much if somebody doesn't tell me to shut up.

Well, hopefully I didn't give anybody nightmares with my terrible artwork or creepy devotion to writing details. For what it's worth, I'm a gigantic Tails fan (as I've disclaimed in my other pictures) so don't take this as "anti-Tails" but rather as utilizing Tails' best assets and proving that even with Cream around, he's the quintessential kid in the Sonic series. Hopefully SOMEBODY will at least comment on this...
